3 New FB Messenger Tools That Will Make You Money!
More Than Just a Messenger
Facebook Messenger has been a way for businesses and their customers to interact with people. Recently, Facebook has made Messenger so much more than just a communication platform. They announced at the F8 conference that they are implementing a ton of awesome Messenger tools for businesses! It is now way more than just a text messaging interface.
Read on to see how Facebook has just created three messenger tools that will make your business more money!
1. Lead Generation Flows in Messenger
Messenger is going to help you cultivate leads! This is going to be a new Messenger Template. If you are not familiar with templates for Messenger, they are ways to offer a richer in-conversation experience than standard text messages. It does this by integrating buttons, images, lists, and more alongside a single message.
Templates can be used for many purposes, but this one is specifically to generate more leads for your business!
As you can see above, the flow of conversation, when integrated with your CRM can provide really nuanced responses based on the feedback from the customer. From this you can then track relevant leads to respond at a later date – like when an item is back in stock or however this may relate to your business.
The goal is to make the interaction that much easier for users to be able to interact with the businesses they are already looking to connect with. Which brings us to the next feature that Facebook has announced!
2. Appointment Booking in Messenger
Similar to the lead generation flow is the Appointment Booking function that is coming to Messenger. It will enable businesses to integrate their response flow with their existing calendar booking software. This will help streamline the appointment process all within the app! If you would like to apply to the beta waitlist for this function click here.
This is going to be such a useful tool from businesses because it can turn regular messenger conversions to in-store traffic, phone appointments, and more!
3. Updating Standard Messaging Window
Originally, businesses only had 24 hours to respond to a message initiated by a person in Messenger, with an additional allowance to send one message outside of the 24 hour window. Now businesses only have 24 hours only. This benefited businesses who weren’t able to respond to a message within 24 hours.
Now businesses will only have 24 hours to respond which will encourage faster response times to users.
This feature will be implemented Jan. 15, 2020.
Do not be alarmed if you couldn’t get to a message within 24 hours. You can still reach these people through sponsored messages and message tags to re-engage these customers.
Messenger Tags are being reduced from 17 to 4 to make it easier to understand acceptable use cases. This simplifies the tagging process, with clearer guidance as to what responses are acceptable. See below for the four updated Messenger tags:
- Confirmed Event – Send the user reminders or updates for an event they have registered for (e.g., RSVP’d, purchased tickets). This tag may be used for upcoming events and events in progress.
- Post Purchase – Notify the user of an update on a recent purchase.
- Account Update – Notify the user of a non-recurring change to their application or account.
- Human Agent (closed beta) – Allows human agents to respond to user inquiries. Messages can be sent within 7 days after a user message.
That’s All Folks
These updates provide you with three awesome messenger tools that are game changers for businesses. The added benefit will increase use of bots and templates which will make them way more popular. Hopefully, this will encourage the platform to create more updates and innovative additions to these types of features, more frequently.
Now, go generate more leads, book more appointments, and get more customers!
