LinkedIn Launches Events to Facilitate In-Person Meet-ups

Okay everyone, with the new LinkedIn update you can now invite your corporate friends to your birthday party using LinkedIn! (But I would not recommend using it for that) However, you totally could with LinkedIn’s new event tool. LinkedIn users will now be able to create their own event pages using the Community panel to the left side of the News Feed in the mobile app.

Members are able to create, organize, and facilitate in-person meet-ups with this new tool. This could be used in so many different ways! Whether you want to schedule meetings within your organization or networking events with your peers, the options are endless.

LinkedIn explained:You need to provide a description, a date and time, a venue, and then invite your connections using filters such as location, company, industry, and school.”

This structure is much like Facebook’s event interface and will come in handy for tons of business professionals forming events. What better place to create these events than on LinkedIn? Both the organizers and the attendees will be able to invite people so it doesn’t end with your circle of peers. By having this event created, you can start connecting with people before the event even happens!

This option aligns incredibly well with their other event tools like “event frames.” This is a function that allow attendees to overlay frames on their images and videos posted to the platform where it is available.

The option serves a clear, functional purpose in LinkedIn’s palette of tools, and will no doubt be a popular addition to the LinkedIn community. This is event tool is not yet available to all users but will be a site wide tool very soon.

Employee Notifications

It doesn’t just end there! LinkedIn has added so many new useful features for businesses to strengthen their profiles and overall message. First, are the employee notifications. This is a super handy function that is meant to boost employee engagement on the platform. These notifications introduce a new way to let your company employees know about important business updates or posts.

Employee notification

LinkedIn will send an alert to employees informing them that their is an update and prompt them to share it to their own networks.

This is huge in boosting engagement and awareness for your posts because research has shown that content shared by employees get 8x more engagement, on average, than content shared through branded channels.

Just use the employee notifications sparingly. Staff could be annoyed by it seeming spammy. So, use discretion if you have an important piece of shareable content that you think all staff should know about. To discourage this from happening too much, LinkedIn made alerting employees available only once per week.

The next LinkedIn update, is kudos and team moments. This is a great way to highlight great work, welcome new team members, and build company morale. Inspire your team with this new addition!

LinkedIn explained:

“With Kudos and Team Moments, Page Admins can leverage a custom content format built specifically to welcome new team members, spotlight outstanding work, and recognize the people behind an organization’s pivotal moments. By highlighting the people behind your brand, you reveal the human side of your organization to prospective customers and employees.”

Kudos and Team Moments have their own dedicated post format. This will help separate it from the other types of posts that you see regularly in your feed, which should improve engagement due to its unique format.

Generate More Profile Views

Next, LinkedIn has added a new completion meter for company pages! This is a very intuitive way to see what is missing from your company page and to encourage you to complete all the things you may not realize you are missing.

LinkedIn Completion Meter

Complete profiles get 30% more views per week than profiles that are not complete. However, some admins do not finish completing their page because they simply do not know what is missing. This new option will guide users through this process to result in a finished, professional page.

These new additions will be very useful for all companies using LinkedIn. By adding new employee notifications, team spotlight posts, and a profile completion meter, companies should see higher engagement than they ever have before! Make sure you take advantage of these awesome updates and continue to build your business.

Hiya, I’m really glad I’ve found this info. Nowadays bloggers publish just about gossip and net stuff and this is really irritating. A good web site with interesting content, this is what I need. Thank you for making this web-site, and I will be visiting again. Do you do newsletters by email?
